AUC Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat confers with U.S. Secretary of State Blinken

Addis Ababa, March 16, 2023 (FBC) – African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.

During their meeting, they exchanged views regarding progress in the implementation of the Cessation of Hostilities agreement and other regional issues of mutual interest, the AUC Chairperson confirmed via his post on Twitter.

In his official working visit to Ethiopia, Secretary Blinken held an in-depth discussion with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on various domestic, bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest. They have agreed to strengthen the long-standing bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the United States of America with a commitment to partnership.

He also held a discussion Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen on a wide range of matters spanning from the implementation of the cessation of hostilities agreement to Ethiopia’s economic situation as well as regional peace and security issues.
