BDU, Japanese universities bond boosting tech transfer, science: Ambassador

Addis Ababa, November 14, 2022 (FBC) – Bahir Dar University’s collaboration with Japanese universities is contributing to the transfer of technology in education sector.

The chief of Amhara region, Yalkal Kefale, met with the Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ito Takako, and held discussions.

In the discussion, the chief of the region appreciated the support of the Japanese people and government for the development of Ethiopia, and the Amhara region, in particular.

Ambassador Ito Takako, on her part, said that for the past seven years, the Japanese government has been working in cooperation with Bahir Dar University to produce a qualified workforce trained in science and technology.

She also explained that the Japanese government is working on agriculture, clean drinking water and natural resource conservation in the Amhara region, including Bahir Dar city, reports Amhara Media Corporation.

During her stay in the region, the Ambassador is expected to visit various projects backed by her government, including Kaizen implementation in health institutions.
