China donates a batch of anti-locust equipment to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, October 19, 2020 (FBC) – China has donated a batch of anti-locust equipment to ministry of agriculture including pesticides, hand held ULV sprayers and set of personal protective gears.

During the handover ceremony, State minister of Ministery of Agriculture, Dr. Mandefro Nigussie said the supplies extended by the the Chinese government will have a crucial role in fighting the desert locust swarms which have causing devastating harm in the country.

He said that China and Ethiopia have been enjoying long-standing cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Apart from emergency material and food assistance, the Chinese government has been committed to help Ethiopia development and its self sufficiency capacity, it is stated on the occasion.
