Chinese FM Qin Gang, AUC Chairperson Moussa Faki inaugurate the Africa CDC HQ in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, January 11, 2022 (FBC) – The Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang and Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahmat have inaugurated the Africa Center for Disease Control (CDC) Headquarters in Addis Ababa.

The first phase of the CDC Headquarter has been completed and the remaining works will be finalized soon, it is stated on the occassion.

The state of the art CDC building is said crucial to enhance the disease control and prevention activities in Africa, it is stated on the riboon cutting ceremony.

Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Qin Gang and the Chairperson of African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat held bilateral talks on mutual issues of cooperation.

The discussion was held in paticipation of senior officials from AU Commission as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

The discussion explored ways how to enhance the multifaceted cooperation between Africa and China.

The two sides have explored ways of strengthening the Africa-China Cooperation in economic, social and political issues.

The African Union Commission and the Chinese Foreign Minister have signed MoU to forge cooperation in peace and security, health and food security areas.
