Chinese Justice Minister He Rong arrives in Addis Ababa for working visit

Addis Ababa, February 13, 2025 (FMC) — The People’s Republic of China’s Minister of Justice, Madame He Rong, arrived in Addis Ababa for an official visit, the Ethiopian Justice ministry confirmed this morning.

The Chinese justice minister Madame He Rong, and her delegation were warmly welcomed by Mr. Belayhun Yirga, Ethiopia’s state minister at the Ministry of Justice at Bole International Airport.

During the reception, Mr. Belayhun underlined the importance of Mme. He Rong’s visit to Ethiopia. He visit aims to discuss ways to further strengthen the long-standing cooperation between Ethiopia and the People’s Republic of China, especially in legal and judicial matters.

Mme. He Rong, is expected to have a discussion with the higher officials of the FDRE Ministry of Justice, the Federal Supreme Court, and the Federal Advocates’ Association.

The Chinese justice minister is also expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with her Ethiopian counterpart Ms. Hanna Arayaselassie, to cooperate on legal and judicial matters .
