City offers reward for information on concealed goods to protect consumers from unfair trading

Addis Ababa, August 24, 2021 (FBC) – Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie announced on Tuesday an award for information on concealed consumer goods in a bid to protect byers from unfair trading.

She said the city administration has set up a special task force in charge of protecting the residents from illegal marketing practices that are exacerbating the inflation and related socio economic problems.

Adanech noted that the task force has managed to unearth various kinds of consumer goods stockpiled by illegal traders who intended to pressure the market in the city.

Reports indicate that some traders are deliberately working to wreak economic sabotage in the country.

The city will inject the market in the city with more consumer goods to address inflation and intensify control activities to stabilize the market and protect consumers from unwelcome economic pressure.
