Confirmed coronavirus cases reach 68,820, death toll stands at 1,096

Addis Ababa, September 21, 2020 (FBC) – The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Ethiopia has reached 68,820 after Ministry of Health reported additional 689 infections on Sunday.

According to the Ministry the death toll from the virus increased to 1,096 including 7 fatalities in twenty four hours.

The Ministry said 8,923 laboratory tests have conducted within a day till the report issued.

Number of recoveries also 28,314 including 375 during the last twenty four hours, the Ministry stated.

There are currently 39,408 active coronaviurs cases in the country of which 290 are in severe conditions taking treatment in intensive care units.

The country has so far conducted 1,202,818 laboratory test since March, 2020.
