Council receives 30,000 sqms of land to build mosque, research centre

Addis Ababa, May 20, 2020 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Council has received 30,000 square meters of land from the Addis Ababa city administration to build state-of- the-art mosque and research centre.

Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Engineer Takle Uma handed over the land title certificate to Grand Mufti Umer Idris, President of the Council and Sheikh Sultan Aman, President of the Addis Ababa Islamic Affairs Council

Engineer Takele also handed over title deeds of 70 existing mosques that have no documents thus far, according to mayor office of Addis Ababa

Engineer Takel on the occasion said the land is an Eid al-Fitr gift for the Muslim community.

Wishing happy Eid al-Fitr, he called on the haves to share with have-nots during Eid al-Fitr ,which will be celebrated after a few days.
