Delivery of Humanitarian assistance underway in Mekelle City: Mayor

Addis Ababa, January 24, 2021 (FBC) – Mayor of Mekelle City, Ataklti Haileselassie said emergency food assistance is being delivered to those who are in in need the city.

According to the mayor, 180, 000 residents of Mekelle and others drawn from various parts of the region including elders have received emergency food support.

Cereals, wheat flour and food parcels have distributed to people in need and nutritional foods have been provided for children.

Humanitarian activities are being intensified to address 379,000 people in need in the city and and others displaced from several parts of the region as well, the mayor said.
