Dire Dawa City names a park after renowned Ethiopian singer Ali Birra

Addis Ababa, July 21, 2022 (FBC) – The Dire Dawa Administration has named a park in the city after the renowned Ethiopian singer Ali Birra.

Mayor of Dire Dawa City Administration, Kedir Juhar, has officially declared the naming of the park which was formerly known as ‘Millennium Park’ in the city after the prominent artist who have been performing with Afan Oromo and several languages including Amharic , Somali and Harari.

He has contribured more than 200 songs in various languages thereby contributed a lot to the music industry in Ethiopia.

High government officials, artist Ali Birra and his wife Lily Markos, families and fans of the artist and public representatives have attended the event. Artist Ali Birra is born and raised in Dire Dawa City, Ethiopia’s second chartered city after Addis Abeba.
