Eighty Four percent of tree seedlings grown: PM

Addis Ababa, May 18, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed today stated that the national average for seedlings that have grown over the past year stands at 84 percent.
Following last year’s Green Legacy Planting Campaign, the average growth of the tree seedlings planted across the nation reached eighty percent, the Prime Minister said.
Extensive care – taking work has been undertaken throughout the country to cultivate planted seedlings, according to the premier.
Two weeks ago, the Prime Minister said preoperational activities are underway to plant millions of trees during the upcoming rainy season.
It is to be recalled that Ethiopians all over the country planted 353 million trees a day on July 30, 2019 under a reforestation campaign named “Green Legacy” which is a world record in its kind.
