Ensuring autonomy of universities key to maintain quality of education: MoE

Addis Ababa, January 3, 2022 (FBC) – Ministry of Education highlighted the need to ensure the autonomy of universities to maintain quality of education in the country.

The step towards realizing the autonomy of universities would also help address queries raised by the community in the higher education institutions such as queries related to incentives, the Ministry said.

In an exclusive interview with Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC), Education State Minister, Samuel Kifle stated that academic freedom in universities will allow the institutions to discharge their responsibilities freely, transfer knowledge in a proper manner.

The Ministry of Education is working to enable universities to become autonomous thereby playing their part in the nation building process.
