Ethiopia confirms 145 new cases, 327 additional recoveries

Addis Ababa, June 27, 2020 (FBC) Ministry of Health confirmed  145 additional coronavirus cases out of 5,552 laboratory tests conducted over the last one day.

The new report has increased the number of total confirmed cases in the country to 5570.

Among the confirmed cases, 86 of them are male and 59 are female and their age ranges from 2 months to 90 years old, the Ministry stated.

All of the confirmed cases are Ethiopians, among the cases, 94 of them are identified from Addis Ababa city administration, 22 are from Oromia, 10 from Amhara, 10 from Somali and 3 from Benshangul Gumuz Regions and the remainig 6 from Dire Dawa City Administration.

Among 8 post mortem laboratory tested conducted in 24 hours, two deceased have been confirmed positive for coronavirus. And two individuals who were receiving treatment have died from the virus, and totally 5 people have died from COVID 19 in twenty four hours.

Moreover, 327 individuals have recovered from the disease taking the number of recoveries in the nation to 2015.

Ethiopia has now a total of 3,459 active cases, with 34 of them in a severe condition. The total number of tests conducted so far stands at 223, 016.
