Ethiopia earns $265.3M from gold export during last four months

Addis Ababa, November 19, 2020 (FBC) – Mines and Petroleum Ministry announced gold export earnings amounting 265.3 US Dollars during last four months, increased revenue compared to the same period of last fiscal year.

The revenue from Coffee, Flower and Khat exports has also shown remarkable growth during the last four months, according to the Ministry.

Exports of gold, Coffee, Flower and Khat contributed 265.3 Million, 230.5 Million and 138. 3 Million USD Dollars respectively to the increment of foreign currency earnings the country witnessed over the last months.

Upsurge number of companies which are joining the mining sector will further play a significant role to persistent growth of the export revenue, added the Ministry.
