Ethiopia records 109 COVID-19 cases, three deaths in 24 hours

Addis Ababa, May 31, 2020 (FBC) –Some 109 people tested positive for the COVID-19 in a day across Ethiopia, while 3 patients died of the virus.

The new cases were identified out of the 2,836 laboratory tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

Of the total new confirmed cases, 61 are male and 48 are female with the youngest being 5 years old and the oldest 70 year, according to the Ministry of Health.

All the confirmed cases are Ethiopian nationals and 99 of them are from Addis Ababa, two from Tigray, five from Oromia and three from Harari regional states.

Three people have also died, taking the total death from the virus to 11. One patient has recovered from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 209.

The total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia is now 1,172, with total test counts of 109, 451.
