Ethiopia unveils its  Non – Motorized Transport Strategy

Addis Ababa, June 3, 2020 (FBC) – Ministry of Transport has unveiled a ten year non-motorized transport strategic plan that will be effective as of the upcoming Ethiopian new fiscal year.

While opening the occasion, Minister of Ministry of Transport Dagmawit Moges said the strategic plan incorporates major activities the country will undertake by the coming ten years in line with improving the transportation sector and ensuring holistic development across the nation.

The strategic plan that will be effective from 2020/2021– 2030/2031 contains measures to be taken so as to ensure smooth flow of transport

The non – motorized transport strategy is crucial to easily connect collector roads with highways, ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic and ensure healthiness of the community, according to the Transport Ministry.

Dagmawit expressed gratitude to ITDP, UN-EP, UN-HABITAT and other stakeholders for their contribution to the realization the strategic plan calling all stakeholders to play their share to its successfulness.
