Ethiopia, WHO sign joint work plan to achieve UHC

Addis Ababa, February 21, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) have signed a joint work plan to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Ethiopia.

The two-year (2020/21) plan was signed today by Dr Lia Tadesse, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Health and Dr Boureima Sambo, WHO Representative to Ethiopia.

During the signing ceremony, it was noted the plan would contribute a lot in achieving UHC, addressing health emergencies and promoting healthier populations in Ethiopia.

WHO also donated medical equipment worth $43, 000 to combat corona virus (COVID-19) in Ethiopia.
