Ethiopia’s COVID 19 cases reach 22, 253 as 801 more confirmed

Addis Ababa, August 8, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 22, 253 after 801 new positive cases have been confirmed today.

Ministry of Health revealed that from a total of 10,919 medical tests that were conducted within the last 24 hours, 801 of them tested positive for coronavirus bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 22, 253.

The ministry also disclosed that some 10 additional patients succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 390.

Ministry further said 292 patients have recovered from the disease taking the number of recoveries to 9,707.

There are currently 12,154 active cases in the country of which 167 are in severe conditions, the ministry indicated.

Ethiopia has so far conducted 488,936 laboratory testes over the last months.
