Federal Police Commission issues a statement on 6th National Elections

Addis Ababa, June 19, 2021 (FBC) – The Federal Police Commission has issued a statement regarding the upcoming general elections to take place on June 21, 2021 across the nation. In the statement, the Federal Police has extended best wish to all Ethiopians to have peaceful election process.

Police extended gratitude to all stakeholders for the support and cooperation during the election process and urged the general public to provide it and other security forces with information on any suspicious activity that may hinder the election process.

Federal Police Commission also thanked contending political parties for their adherence to electoral rules and constructive contribution to the peaceful process, and called them to continue devotion till the end of the polls.

The statement also conveyed the message to the federal and regional security forces appreciating their commitment and sacrifices for working around the clock for peaceful election.

The Commission has announced coordinated efforts it has been undertaken in collaboration with various security forces to ensure that the electoral process is free from any violence based election security plan and detailed analysis that considers circumstances in pre-election, election day, and post-election period.
