GERD Advocacy Conference held under “Justice and Equitable Use” theme

Addis Ababa, October 17, 2020 (FBC) – A civic society organization named Justice for Humanity in collaboration with National Council for Coordination of Public Participation for the Construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam has organized GERD advocacy conference under the theme “Justice and Equitable Use”.

Agency for Civil Society Organizations, Ethiopia Diaspora Association and Lift Ethiopia are also co-organizers of the conference that focuses on creating knowledge based advocates for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

The conference has been attended by a number of scholars who have conducted various researches on GERD issues and hundreds of advocates of the project.

The newly appointed Director General of National Council for Coordination of Public Participation for the Construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Dr. Aregawi Berhe, on the occasion stressed the need for continued and coordinated support for the successful completion of the dam.

Presentations focusing on ways of bolstering public participation and international diplomatic efforts have been presented on the occasion.
