GPE affirms readiness to support Ethiopia’s education sector

Addis Ababa, January 26, 2023 (FBC) – Global Partnership for Education (GPE) has affirmed its readiness to support the education sector in Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Minister of Education, Prof. Birhanu Nega, held a discussion with Laura Frigenti, Chief Executive Officer of Global Partnership for Education.

During the discussion, Prof. Birhanu elucidated the reforms and on-going activities to enhance the quality of education in Ethiopia.

He also stated that efforts are being made to ensure the quality and equity of education.

Calling for its continued support, the Minister mentioned that GPE has been providing assistance in education sector in Ethiopia.

Laura Frigenti, for her part, acknowledged that the activities carried out in Ethiopia to ensure access and coverage of education recorded commendable outcome.

According to the Ministry of Education, she affirmed that GPE is ready to support the education sector in Ethiopia through cooperation with international donors.

The chief executive also praised the efforts made by the Ethiopian government to achieve better results in education sector in Ethiopia.
