HoF Speaker Agegnehu Teshager confers with Amb. Evgeny Terekhin

Addis Ababa, January 30, 2023 (FBC) – The FDRE House of Federation Speaker, Agegnehu Teshager, held discussion with Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin.

It is stated that during their discussion, both sides underscored the importance of strengthening the long-established cooperation between Ethiopia and Russia in various fields.

Ethiopia’s Speaker of House of Federation, Agegnehu Teshager, stated that his government is committed to the effective implementation of the peace accord. The peaceful resolution of the conflict is a practical demonstration of the government’s commitment, he said.

The Speaker underscored that extensive works are being carried out to permanently silence the guns in Ethiopia, adding that lasting peace will be built on a firm foundation.

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin, for his part, said that his country wants to continue strengthening its historic relations with Ethiopia.

It is stated that the friendly relations between the FDRE House of Federation and the Russian Upper House (Federation Council), should be enhanced to a higher level.

According to the House of Federation of the FDRE, the Ambassador has handed over the letter of invitation sent from the Russian Federation to the Speaker to participate in the Russia-Africa Summit to further strengthen the long-standing cooperation.
