House approves revised defense forces proclamation

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2023 (FBC) – The House of Peoples Representatives approved the revised draft defense forces proclamation on Tuesday.

The draft bill is aimed to put in place legal frameworks crucial to address the challenges hindering the efforts to build a modern army and enable the defense force to effectively discharge its responsibilities to maintain the national unity without any political interference.

In the wake of the ongoing reform, the Federal Defense Force has been carrying out many reform activities in line with the current situation as its future missions, it is indicated on the occasion.

The house approved the amended law cognizant of its paramount significance in realizing a legal frame work key to fill the existing gaps and reinforce activities to further modernize the army.
