IPDC: Reform works in progress to allow more Indian firms enter IPs

Addis Ababa, March 3, 2023 (FBC) – Aklilu Tadese, Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC), discussed with the Indian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Shri Robert Shetkintong.

Besides strengthening the long-standing friendship between the two countries, the role of Indian investors in Ethiopia’s industrial parks is vital in creating employment opportunities, the IPDC Chief said.

He noted that reform works are being made to allow more Indian firms to enter and invest in Ethiopia’s industrial parks.

Ambassador Shri Robert Shetkintong, for his part, mentioned that many Indian firms have been engaged in investment opportunities in Ethiopia to date.

He stated that their participation in industrial parks is particularly high and further companies are interested in entering in the IPs.

It is stated that Indian investors have created employment opportunities for many citizens by engaging in several industrial parks in Ethiopia.
