Japanese investors explore potential opportunities in Ethiopia’s tourism sector
Addis Ababa, January 24, 2025 (FMC) – The Ethiopian Ministry of Tourism hosted a symposium to inform Japanese business leaders and investors about the abundant investment opportunities in Ethiopia’s tourism industry.
During the event, Dr. Endegena Abebe, State Minister of Tourism, reaffirmed the Ethiopian Government’s dedication to advancing the tourism sector and fostering investment initiatives.
Tewodros Deribew, Coordinator of the Ministry’s Delivery Unit, provided insights into Ethiopia’s diverse tourism resources and the unique investment prospects available. He emphasized the competitive advantages of the country’s tourism assets and showcased newly developed attractions and facilities.
Additionally, Tewodros outlined the extensive opportunities for investment and the various incentives and support mechanisms accessible to investors in the tourism sector.
The symposium also featured a B2B networking session that connected Japanese and Ethiopian businesses. Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ethiopian Embassy in Japan, the event attracted around 50 Japanese enterprises and investors, alongside representatives from Ethiopian businesses and government agencies.
