Minister Held Discussion With Former VP of South Africa

Addis Ababa, April 24, 2023 (FBC) – Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, met with former Deputy President of South Africa, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

They discussed on women’s role in the peace building process, according to the Minister.

It is stated that Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has contributed to the peace agreement between the Ethiopian Government and TPLF led by the African Union.

“Her contribution is a remarkable one which conveyed a strong message that women’s participation in the peace building process is not a matter of choice but a necessity to ensure sustainable peace in Africa”, Ergogie has stated.

Phumzile Mlambo said “The participation of women in peace process is not a matter of choice but a necessity to ensure a sustainable peace and security in our continent and the world as well”.
