Minister highlights Ethiopia’s success stories in agriculture sector at Berlin forum

Addis Ababa, January 21, 2020 (FBC) –An Ethiopian delegation led by Oumer Hussien, Minister of Agriculture, participated at the 6th German African Agribusiness Forum on 20th of January 2020 in Berlin, Germany.

He was a high-level panellist on the topic of “Driving Private Sector Engagement for Africa’s Agriculture”.

The Minister highlighted Ethiopia’s unique experience/success stories in engaging the private sector in agriculture sector and the opportunities/challenges the sector presents to potential investors.

While stressing that opportunities in the Ethiopian agricultural sector far outweigh the few challenges faced by potential investors, he highlighted sector specific incentives and support provided by the government to transform the agricultural sector in Ethiopia.

The Forum organized by German-African Business Association (Afrika-Verein) and the German Agribusiness Alliance is held in the course of the 85th International Green Week (IGW) in Berlin.
