Minister of State commends UN Habitat’s support to realize the dev’t aspirations of Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 5, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Delegation led by Fenta Dejene, State Minister for Urban and Infrastructure, is participating in the second session of United Nations (UN) Habitat Assembly.

According to the Ethiopian Embassy in Nairobi, the UN Habitat Assembly is being held from 5 to 9 June 2023 in Nairobi under the theme “For a better Urban Future”.

Fenta Dejene delivered the National statement of Ethiopia during opening session of the UN Habitat Assembly.

In his remark, the State Minister has stressed on major policy issues related to structural transformations that the Government is undertaking to modernize the urban sector in Ethiopia.

He commended UN Habitat’s effort to realize the development aspirations of ethiopia.

Fenta also reiterated the commitment of the Government of Ethiopia to further strengthen the cooperation and partnership with the UN Habitat to better implement the New Urban Agenda and the SDGs related to Urban development at National level.

The event was officially opened by William Ruto, the President of the Republic of Kenya earlier today and attended by Ambassadors including, Bacha Debele, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Kenya and the Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the UN-Habitat and UNEP and high level officials.
