New President of Somalia vows to enhancing bilateral ties with Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 18, 2022 (FBC) – The newly elected President of Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has pledged to enhancing bilateral ties between his country and Ethiopia.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for his best wishes on his re-election.

Addressing President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister Abiy said: “I look forward to working closely with you on common bilateral and regional interests.”

Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Tuesday that Ethiopia and Somalia are working to establish joint Ministerial Committee with a view to elevate their bilateral relations in multifaceted areas of cooperation.
