Ombudsman unveils details of atrocities committed by TPLF in Amhara, Afar Regions

Addis Ababa, April 20, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Institution of the Ombudsman has revealed its findings on its investigation of the atrocities and crimes committed by the TPLF in 7 woredas in the Afar and Amhara regions.

Accordingly, 1,217 people were raped in the Amhara region, infrastructure was deliberately destroyed and 1.8 million people in the region were made dependent on emergency food relief.

The report also indicated that more than 800 million birr worth of infrastructure was destroyed in the Afar regions.

Ombudsman report also indicated that the terrorist TPLF was using social infrastructures including schools and hospitals as camps and ammunition stores.
