Oromia State launches a campaign to plant 400 million trees in a day

Addis Ababa, July 18, 2022 (FBC) – Oromia State Chief Administrator Shimelis Abdisa has officially launched planting of 400 million trees in the region.

The annual Green Legacy Initiative has been launched in Lome Woreda of East Shewa Zone of Oromia Region in the presence of high level government officials and public representatives at regional level.

It is indicated on the launch of the tree planting session that Oromia State is set to plant 4.35 billion seedlings till the end of the current rainy season in line with the national Green Legacy Initiative.

Ethiopia has already planted 18 billion trees with participation more than 20 million people over the last 3 three years in line with the plan for 20 billion trees till the end of 2022.
