Over 2bn birr Hike-Bistima-Chifra road project begins

Addis Ababa, October 25, 2020 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed has officially launched the commencement of construction of Hike-Bistima-Chifra asphalt road project.

The 74.3km road linking the Afar regional state to Amhara regional state will be built with more than 2.1 billion birr allocated by the federal government.

The road project, which will go from gravel to asphalt paving, is expected to take four years for completion.

The project was awarded last July to both POWERCON and ASER construction Plcs.
