PM stresses role of private sector in modernizing Ethiopia’s agriculture

Addis Ababa, August 31, 2020 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed has underscored the innovative role of the private sector in modernizing agriculture in Ethiopia.

In his Facebook account, the Prime Minister said “Agriculture is one of the key pillars of our economy. It has been more than seventy years since the beginning of modern agricultural education and research in our country.”

“However, so far our agriculture has not shifted from ox ploughing and reliance on farm labor to industrial inputs and stockpiles.

“To change this,” he said, “the innovative role of the private sector is crucial.”
