Premier calls up on the global community to join Green Legacy Movement

Addis Ababa, June 17, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr. Abiy ahmed called up on the global community to join Ethiopia’s Green Legacy movement.

The premier stressed that Deforestation and climate change, among other factors, has been contributing to the loss of fertile soil, forests and woodlands every year in Ethiopia.

The prime Minister noted that Ethiopia’s Green Legacy aspirations are aimed to reverse this loss of natural resources in the country.

“As the global community marks World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, I call upon all to join Ethiopia’s Green Legacy movement.” he pleaded.

Ethiopia has already launched its annual green legacy campaign against the national grand plan to plant 20 billion trees in five years as of last summer.
