President Asks For Conference Pays Attention to Landlocked Countries
Addis Ababa, October 14, 2021 (FBC) – President Sahle Work Zewdie expresses her desire for 2nd United Nations Global Transport Conference gives attention for landlocked countries such as Ethiopia.
The conference is happening in Beijing, China.
She has also noted that Ethiopia’s allocation of 11pct of its annual budget to road infrastructure indicates its priority for the transport sector and significance.
She has noted that focus on transport infrastructure development including like light rail in the country facilitates economic development enhancing material and human movement between rural and urban areas.
The UN indicated that “the conference will provide an opportunity to focus attention on the opportunities, challenges and solutions towards achieving sustainable transport worldwide”.
