Religious leaders deliver Easter message of unity, peace

Addis Ababa, April 23, 2022 (FBC) – Religious leaders have extended best wishes to all Christians upon the Ethiopian Easter Holiday which marks the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day after his Crucifixion.

Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church, His Holiness Abune Matias, Cardinal of the Ethiopian Catholic Church, Abune Berhaneyesus Surafel and President of Evangalical Church of Mekaneyesus, Priest Yonas Yigezu delivered message of unity and peace for Ethiopian Christinas upon Easter festival to be celebrated tomorrow.

“Resurrection of Jesus Christ delivers the human race from their sin. The humankind gets peace and protection through the rise of Jesus Christ from the dead,” they underscored.

In their message, the religious fathers called on the faithful to uphold unity and peace while celebrating the Holiday. They further urged the faithful to give alms to the needy while observing the Easter festival, and called for peace in the country.
