5 regions receive medical supplies worth over C$1.3mln from WHO, DFATD

 

Addis Ababa, March 14, 2023 (FBC) – Medical equipment and supplies worth over 1.3 million Canadian dollars were handed over to the regional health bureaus of Amhara, Oromia, Southern Ethiopia (SNNP), Sidama, and South West Ethiopia regions as well as Dire-Dawa city administration.

It is indicated that the medical supplies were provided by World Health Organization Country Office for Ethiopia (WHO Ethiopia) with Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD).

State Minister at the Ministry of Health, Dereje Dhuguma, and Acting WHO Ethiopia Representative Dr. Nonhlanhla Dlamini handed over the donation certificates to health bureau heads.

It is believed that the donations will help sustain essential health services and achieve health coverage by strengthening primary healthcare services in the regions.
