Work in progress to sustain encouraging results registered in agriculture sector: Finance Minister

Addis Ababa, May 10, 2023 (FBC) – Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide, said that efforts are being made to sustain the encouraging results recorded in the agricultural sector through financial support.

The Finance Minister Ahmed Shide and other senior officials of the agricultural institute visited the National Agriculture and Science Fair at the Science Museum.

On the occasion, Ahmed Shide said that by supporting the agricultural sector financially, efforts are being made to sustain the encouraging results that are currently being recorded.

Stating that the agriculture sector has been given a lot of attention to ensure the development of the country, the Minister indicated that arious projects have been designed and are being implemented.

He pointed out that excellent activities have been done in the development of crops and animal resources, as well as in the conservation of natural resources.

Agricultural production and productivity, especially in wheat production, recorded high results, Ahmed added.

For his part, Agriculture Minister, Girma Amente, said that the purpose of the Agriculture and Science Fair is to showcase the state of the agriculture sector and its development to the public.

He said that the works being done to expand the technologies introduced to automate the agricultural system and to increase the production and productivity were put on display.
