World Bank to approve $210mln financial assistance to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 7, 2022 (FBC) – The World Bank Group is set to approve 210 million USD in financial assistance to Ethiopia to support water development projects in low land areas.

The funds will be used to support projects aimed to develop underground waters in low rainfall low land areas. Projects will be implemented jointly by the Water and Energy Minister and Irrigation and Lowlands for 5 years period.

Officials of the Water and Energy Ministry have discussed with a World Bank delegation. It is stated on the meeting that the funds will be used to implement the projects as soon as approved by the World Bank and endorsed by the parliament accordingly.
