16th National Flag Day to be celebrated on October 16

Addis Ababa, October 13, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia will observe the sixteenth National Flag Day across the country on Monday October 16, 2023, the FDRE House of Peoples’ Representatives (HoPR) announced.

This year’s National Flag Day will be celebrated throughout the country under the theme “The Prestige of Our Flag: A Guarantee for Unity and Sovereignty”.

It is pointed out that the Day will also be observed all over the country under the auspices of the House of Peoples’ Representatives in pursuant to the regulations of the flag, accompanied by panel discussions focused on maintaining the current nationwide reform.

It is mentioned that the celebration of the National Flag Day will have a great significance in revitalizing consolidation of national unity and sovereignty.

The House asserted that the upcoming Flag Day shall be a day to reaffirm everyone’s promise in front of the flag to discharge responsibilities for honor and interests of the country.

It is stated that the Day will be celebrated in federal government institutions, regions and the two city administrations, nation defense forces camps and Ethiopian embassies and missions stationed across the globe at the same time at 10:30 in the morning.

Since 2007, Ethiopia celebrates Flag Day on the first Monday of the month of October in its domestic calendar.
