17th Ethiopian Nationalities Day being colourfully observed in Hawassa
Addis Ababa, December 8, 2022 (FBC) – The 17th Ethiopian Nationalities Day is being colourfully celebrated in Hawassa city.
Thousands of representatives of different nationalities and ethnicities, residents of the city attended the celebration at Hawassa Stadium.
The FDRE Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, First Lady Zinash Tayachew, ministers. regional chief administrators, other senior government officials and invited guests are attending the celebration.
Sidama region chief administrator, Desta Ledamo, during his opening remark, welcomed the guests and participants of the event.
“Ethiopia is your country, and Sidama region is your home. Hence, you are very welcome to stay at your home as long as you wish,” he said, calling on all Ethiopians to protect their common home, Ethiopia.
The National Defense Forces marching band is performing a welcome salutation to the guests of the event.
Representatives of different nationalities and peoples participating in the celebration are present at the Hawassa Stadium.
Children and youths are presenting various shows.
Representatives of religious leaders and civic associations are also present.
