9th international conference on Textile, Apparel underway in Bahir Dar City

Addis Ababa, May 21, 2021 (FBC) – The 9th international conference on Textile, Apparel organized by the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology (EiTEX) is underway in Bahir Dar City, Amhara Regional State.

This conference has brought several individuals and stakeholders in the sector from different companies, academic institutes, government and non-governmental representatives in the sector to share their knowledge and experience in addition to discussing the applications of new technologies.

Researchers and entrepreneurs of the Textile and Fashion Industry drawn from regions and several parts of the world are also participating in the international conference.

Director General of the Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute, Dr. Seleshi Lemma stressed need to potentials of the apparel and fashion sector for acceleration of the economic growth.

The sector should be seconded by researches and practical involvement of the entrepreneurs so that the country can secure anticipated result from the industry, he stressed.

Findings of several research studies conducted by scholars of the sector has been presented in a symposium organized on the event.

Fashion Shows and Innovations rolled out by entrepreneurs are expected to be showcased at the event that will continue for days.
