A 150M Birr Salt factory goes operational in Dire Dawa

Addis Ababa, May 18, 2020 (FBC) – Soda King Factory, iodized salt processing plant built in Dire Dawa Industry Zone with an outlay of 150 Million Birr has started operations.

Chief Executive Office of the factory, Muhdin Fukrdin stated on the inaugural ceremony that the plant is set to process iodized salt which is needed for health remedies.

The factory which has created 120 new jobs processes 50 quintals of iodized salt in daily basis, the CEO noted.

Deputy Mayor of Dire Dawa City Administration, Ahmed Mohammed, on the occasion said the city administration has been exerting integrated efforts to make Dire Dawa Industrial Hub of the Eastern part of the country.
