Addis Ababa city donates over 135m birr to Tigray

Addis Ababa, February 28, 2021 (FBC) – The Addis Ababa city administration has donated 100 million birr, office equipment worth 35 million birr,  3 ambulances and 2 vehicles to the Tigray regional state.

Deputy Mayor of the city, Adanech Abiebie, handed over the donation to Chief Executive of the Tigray interim administration, Dr Mulu Nega, at a ceremony held in Mekelle today.

A delegation led by  Adanech Abiebie and Chief Administrator of Harari regional state, Ordin Bedri traveled to the regional state today.

Adanech  also held discussion with senior leaders of the interim administration, elders and religious leaders in Mekelle city.

The Deputy Mayor on the occasion said “the objective of the donation is to show our solidarity, love and respect to the people of Tigray.”

She said the city administration will continue to provide support until peace and normalcy return in the regional state.
