Addis Ababa city launches a 1.6bln Birr mega highway project

Addis Ababa, April 2, 2021 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City Administration Roads Authority has today officially launched Bole International Airport – Goro mega highway project to be undertaken with 1.6 Billion Birr budget.

High government officials including Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie and City’s Roads Authority Director General, Engineer Moges Tibebu have presided over the launching ceremony.

The 4.9 Kilo meters length and up to 60 meters width road project is said to include sidewalks, bike paths and other pedestrian facilities.

According to the Authority, the project is expected to be completed and go operational within 24 months span of time.
