Addis Ababa inaugurates nation’s giant Maternity and Children Hospital

Addis Ababa, February 10, 2021 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City Administration has completed construction of its state-of-the-art Maternity and Children’s Hospital, the first in its kind in the country.

The modern hospital which has been built at 22,000 ha of land has more than 400 beds, 100 center of excellence rooms and 7 spaces reserved for fetal and related maternal and children surgeries.

According to Addis Ababa City Press Secretariat, the hospital has been equipped with technologies that will help deliver speedy and reliable paperless services.

It is stated that the modern hospital is expected to address infant and maternal mortality and other health complications of the mother and fetus prior to, during, and shortly after pregnancy.

Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abebe is said to inaugurate the hospital built at a total cost of 700 Million Birr soon.
