Addis Ababa to host East African Pastoralists Expo this month

Addis Ababa, January 2, 2024 (FBC) – The Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands announced the finalization of preparations to hold the East African Pastoralists Expo as part of the National Pastoralist Day which marks annually.

Briefing the media, the Irrigation and Lowlands Minister, Aysha Mohammed, stated that IGAD member countries will participate in the Expo she described as a better platform to share experiences with one another on how to improve livelihoods of pastoralists in the region.

Aysha disclosed that the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands has been undertaking a range of activities to improve livelihoods of pastoralists and semi-pastoralists in the country.

The Expo will take place from 26 January to 1 February 2024 at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, according to the Minister.
