Ambassador of Russia to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin expresses condolences on loss of Patriarch Abune Merkorios
Addis Ababa, March 4, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador of Russia to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin has expressed condolences over the passing away of the 4th Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church.
“On behalf of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ethiopia and on my own, I express sincerest and deepest condolences to all who mourn the passing away of the 4th Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church, His Holiness Abune Merkorios,” the Ambassador stated.
“His role in preserving and augmenting the role of the EOTC is invaluable and his legacy is precious. His decease is a great loss for the whole Orthodox world. We grieve with the people of Ethiopia,”
