Amhara Region, ICRC sign agreement to enhance clean water access in conflict-affected areas

Addis Ababa, March 17, 2022 (FBC) – The Amhara Regional State and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have signed cooperation agreement to enhance potable water access in war-ravaged areas in the region.

The agreement signed between the Amhara Region Bureau of Water and Energy and ICRC is aimed to strengthen cooperation in enhancing access to clear water to displaced people and host communities in conflict-affected areas of North and South Wollo Zones and Gondar town, it is indicated.

ICRC together with the Ethiopian Red Cross Society has so far started distributing food for 7,500 displaced people who are sheltered in Harsuma and Afdera areas of the Afar Region.
