Addis Ababa, July 11, 2021 (FBC) – The City Administration of Addis Ababa has started a campaign to plant 1 Million tree seedlings in 12 hours.
Deputy Mayor of the City, Adanech Abiebie has participated in the tree planting campaign in Arada Sub City.
She said the tree planting campaign which has been undergoing across the nation under the theme “Let’s adorn Ethiopia ” is also intended at city level to foster urban agriculture and food security in the metropolis.
Adanech called on the city residents to actively participate in nurturing the seedlings thereby contributing to the environmental protection efforts that have been given due attention by the government.
Residents of Addis Ababa City in partnership with the city administration and various stakeholders have so far planted 5.4 Million seedlings out of the planned 7.5 Million trees.
